About the Project

Losing Focus is a project that revolves around capturing ‘beauty’ on disposable cameras, the idea being that with the disposable camera, there is no manipulation of the image. You can’t change any camera settings or review your image and reshoot until you get the ‘perfect shot’, instead you capture your subject just existing as it is. There is no set answer of what you should take a photo of, however there are some important guidelines and pieces of information below. By participating in the project, you are agreeing that you have read and understood these.

By participating you understand that...

Offensive images will not be accepted

Images which I consider offensive will not be accepted - as a general rule, if an image has no negative impacts or implications for others, it will not be considered offensive.

Everyone in the image must consent

As the photos will be presented in a public piece, every recognisable person in each photo must consent to being in it and being part of the project.

Your image may be used in an art piece

By taking a photo,  you are consenting for your image to be used in a public art piece and on social media. Please contact me if you'd like to withdraw.

It is not guaranteed that your image will be used

Due to the nature of film cameras and the project itself, it is not guaranteed that all of the photos will get back to me and will be developed with no issues.

The project runs on trust

Please be respectful of the project and the cameras if you have received one. When passing the camera on, please choose someone who will also be respectful.

Thank You!

I'm really excited to run this project and see how it turns out.

If you have any questions or are interested in being involved please get in touch.
